MAESTRIA-AFNET 10 – Collection of blood samples

Collection and procedure of blood samples within MAESTRIA-AFNET 10

Collection:
A total of 26 tubes will be collected for one patient:

• 12 aliquots of SST tube,
• 12 aliquots of EDTA blood,
• 2 aliquots of buffy coat.

Please find a detailed procedure for the collection of blood samples in the study protocol (see Appendix 7, page 47+48).

Labelling:
The samples collected will be pseudonymized using the MAESTRIA ID code “CCSSS-XXXX”:

• CC: a 2-digit country code (DE, FR, ES)
• SSS: a 3-digit site number (001; 002, etc)
• XXXX: a 4-digit sequential subject number starting with 1001

Storage:

• The biosamples will be stored at -80°C until the end of recruitment.
• Afterwards your CRA will arrange a shipment with you.

Documentation:

The collection and processing of the biosample for each patient will be documented on the Requisition Form Biobank (ISF 12.1).
The appropriate temperature of your freezer will be documented on a temperature log (ISF 12.1) on weekly basis.
