The ninth AFNET\/EHRA Consensus Conference continued the work of previous conferences. <\/strong>

During the meeting in September 2023, over 80 participants discussed research advances in the light of the 2020 and the upcoming 2024 ESC treatment guidelines and jointly developed recommendations for improved management of atrial fibrillation. The consensus paper concludes that patients with atrial fibrillation and a low arrhythmia burden have a lower risk of stroke and other cardiovascular events than patients with a high arrhythmia burden. In addition, a combination of active rhythm control, anticoagulation, rate control and treatment of concomitant cardiovascular disease can improve the lives of patients with atrial fibrillation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
